A short post this time, really just to reassure everyone that I'm still working on the project - I've had very little time to spend on it over the last few days, and what time I can devote has been spent in re-working the cursor control logic (so there's little visible progress).
I quickly fixed the bug which sent the cursor to the bottom row and bent it out of shape - a misplaced call to the wrong routine, as it turned out - and then restructured most of the logic so that a lot of it became 'fall-through' instructions with key points to call into from outside. That's almost done, with just a little more tuning to do, and then I think it'll be essentially complete and I'll move on to the next task.
As per Muttleys' recommendation I downloaded FRAPS and had a little play with it, and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to make a short video. I grabbed another utility which I've forgotten the name of for the moment to crop the video so you don't have to watch most of my desktop doing nothing and instead can focus on just the VIC++ startup process - once I'm happy with the work I'm doing with the cursor, I'll record a short clip to demonstrate something.
TTFN.
